A Ballerina Tale Movie Premiere

          Yesterday me and my friend Isabella when to see the premier of A Ballerinas Tale. It was one of the most inspiring movies  I have ever been to. It was about a very dedicated and gifted African American dancer named Misty Copeland. The movie showed her dance journey through her life. It showed the struggles and obstacles she was encountered by and how she dealt with them. Being an African American dancer is very hard in the ballet dance industry and in this movie it shows how Misty Copland moved passed it and became the first African American principle ballet dancer with the ABT company. ABT stands for American Ballet Theater, it is a very well known dance company where many professionals go. In this movie I learned Misty Copeland started dancing when she was 13. She was so special because she was born with the perfect ballet dancers body. She picked up dance very quickly and into a year of her training she was on pointe. She was a very determined dancer and her goal was also to preform and sign with the American Ballet Theater Company. She finally reached her goal on June 30, 2015 when she was invited to the company. Being in the company was not easy, Misty always new there was not a lot of African American dancer in the company, but in ABT's company she was the only one.  She would eat a lot and not be aware about her diets until one day the company told her she needed to lose weigh.She started to feel very alone and started to not even want to come to class. She didn't even want to look at her self in the mirror because she felt so ashamed of herself. On stage she was an elegant dancer but off stage felt alone and not good enough. An editor of dance magazine started to realize she was the only African American and called up an old friend of hers. The dance imagine editor then called Misty asking if she wanted an agent. Misty said yes. Her agent helped her discover who she was and how to feel good about herself. In the movie a really memorable ting her agent did was brought a few of African American woman who accomplished something really big. This made Misty feel not alone. Overall, when I watched the movie A Ballerina Tale, I was so inspired by how determined and hardworking Misty was, even in the darkest times with the help of her agent she began to realize that she was perfect the way she was and no one was ever going to bring her down.
